WEEKLY EVENT PICKS: 12/4 - 12/10
I know this is the first one we've done, but I don't think I really need to go in and explain, right? It's simple enough: we find events in San Diego, we weed out the shitty ones and provide you with a comprehensive list of cool and important shit to do and see. Cool? Cool. Let's get to it.
ACCESS MUSIC & FRESHYARD PRESENT
I met INTBK (pronounced 'Innate The Beat Kid') when we were 12 after he shot me in the face with an airsoft gun at a homie's house. Somehow, we ended up becoming a DJ duo only a few weeks later. I've since fallen back on the DJ / producer aspirations, but INTBK has only doubled down since. Playing soulful and jazzy beats, along with house and bounce bangers, I can assure you a set by my old buddy is not something to miss.

THE TRAVELERS CLUB PRESENTS
ART & REC (21+)
Now, what kind of event promoter slash industry prostitute would I be if I didn't shamelessly plug my own events into these things, huh? Nah, but foreal, you should really come out. Featuring art from all spectrums of the San Diego alternative art scene, we have names like Salty Ol' Sugga, Veeejzilla, Rodrigo Jimenez and more, along with DJ sets by Vii, the TC Boys, Yung Mondi and yours truly.
FEATURING VII, MEN 2 BOYZ, TC.

SAN PEDRO EL CORTEZ (18+)
I'ma keep it real with you, I'm not too familiar with San Pedro El Cortez at all, but I am familiar with Peggy 183 and I'll be the first and probably second person to tell you never to miss a Peggy 183 set. Whether it's a solo set or backed by a live band, this 18 year old kid is a legend in the making.
ALSO FEATURING PEGGY 183, COLA BOYY, TRIT95, MALINCHISTA

HICKIES & DRY HUMPS PRESENTS
BUTTS TA NUTS (21+)
Anything by Hickies & Dry Humps, the events company run by legendary San Diego streetwear store 5 & A Dime, is always a worthwhile catch, especially on those weekend nights where you're just trying to get extra saucy. With sets by regulars Julz and Dickhead McGee, plus a set by 1207's Sam Sega (Malik Burgers), it's a guaranteed good time. You're probably gonna wake up looking at your Chase app the next morning on some "FUUUU--" shit, but it's a good time regardless.

SAVE THE SPACE
Underground creative spaces in San Diego are hard to come by. These gems, oftentimes hidden, are the treasures that keep the vitality of our city thriving. This is why it's so important that we come together to protect them whenever the threat of closure is near, and not many deserve that protection like our buds at 3192. Come through, chip in to keep a special place open and listen to tunes by Boy Bleu, Stellard Weller, Alley Burlon, Yung Mondi and myself.
FEATURING ANDY INTERNETS, BOY BLEU, STELLARD WELLER, ALLEY BURLON

HUMAN RIGHTS DAY OF ACTION
On a serious tip, Sunday is reserved for both 1) the boys and 2) confronting social injustices. On this gathering at the front lawn of the county government, we'll be making our voices loud and clear to our local elected officials regarding how we feel about the recent implementation of the Muslim ban. In a city as densely populated with refugees as San Diego is, we need these motherfuckers to know we ain't letting that deportation and harassment shit slide in SD.
