2018 KICKOFF
Although San Diego is mostly associated with the rise of craft beer amongst handlebar bearded men everywhere, make no mistake that this city also has the cocktail game on lock through and through. In this talk hosted at the recently opened Born & Raised, Consortium Holdings boss and restauranteur extraordinaire Arsalun Tafazoli will be going over the history of CH Projects and how he became San Diego's leading auteur in the world of fine eats and good drinks.

SAN DIEGO DREAM ACT RALLY
As mentioned in the flyer above, California is the state with the largest number of immigrant youth and that reality is more apparent than ever in cities like San Diego. With over hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients in our city alone, it is important that we unite and make our voice heard in our city and throughout. These gatherings and rallies may seem minuscule in the face of oppression, but the smallest voices banded together reverberate the loudest.

A NIGHT OF INDIE / BLOGHAUS (21+)
If you were coming of age in the MySpace and Tumblr era, then chances are you know how big a fucking nostalgic treat this is. We've heard of indie rock cover nights or emo nights, but an event dedicated to bloghaus? Amazing. The last time I went I was going apeshit to "Get Down" by Jack Beats and I hadn't felt that alive since shutter shades were still a hot commodity.

2018 WOMEN'S MARCH
It's that time of the year again. Insane to think it's already been a whole 365 days since the rust colored Commander-In-Chief has taken office, but time flies when you're fearing global destruction every week. To commemorate the historic Women's March of last year, the country is coming together again to prove that our anger over the mistreatment of women by our (their) President isn't tapped out. Make a sign and come out to Waterfront Park to help shake the world up -- but please, just no "If Hillary Would've Won I'd Be At Brunch Right Now" bullshit.

ART UNITES PRESENTS
BUSINESS STRATEGIES FOR ARTISTS
It's a shame that art and business seem like such opposing forces. For artists who want to make a livelihood out of their work, it may not always be as simple as "Uhhhh, lemme just sell my shit," and that comes as a big problem for those who just can't get it right. Thanks to Art Unites and the Business Strategies for Artists workshop, this hopefully won't have to be the case much longer. Events like these that empower artists not just to create work but to actually live from it deserve our praise and attendance.
