8 San Diego restaurants included in Michelin's inaugural California list

8 San Diego restaurants make Michelin list

Often referred to as the 'Academy Awards of the culinary world,' the Michelin Guide has long established itself as the leading reference point for fine dining around the world––so much so that until recently only four American cities were considered worthy of their selection. Now, with the release of Michelin's 2019 guide, eight San Diego restaurants officially join the ranks of Michelin's exclusive world-class choices.

Highlighted in the Bib Gourmand category of Michelin's first ever American statewide list, the California guide features eight restaurants from all over San Diego County, including Carlsbad's Campfire, Little Italy's Kettner Exchange, El Jardin, and Juniper & Ivy, and Banker Hill’s Cucina Urbana, and more.

The complete selection in the 2019 MICHELIN Guide California, including the Michelin stars, will be unveiled at a live Star Revelation event taking place in Huntington Beach on Monday June 3, 2019.
