San Diego will soon be receiving its own version of the iconic Opera Australia, as the city just announced plans to construct a 10,000 person capacity permanent music venue at Embarcadero Marina Park South.

The project––titled the Bayside Performance Park––will be built over the site of where the San Diego Symphony currently holds their Bayside Summer Nights concert series. With an extravagant curved, shell-like structure (as seen in renderings above), the new venue plans to stand out as yet another landmark attraction in the city’s waterfront.

The Bayside Performance Park is set to open by the summer of 2020.
